The field Currency Code of table .... contains a value ($$$) that cannot be found in the related table (Currency)

Message Type: Integration-related - Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Problem: When reporting one of the following errors

  • The field “Currency Code” in the “Gen. Journal Line” table contains a value ($$$) that cannot be found in the related table (Currency). (Preliminary posting)
  • The Currency Code field in the Purchase Header table contains a value ($$$) that cannot be found in the related table (Currency). (Final / Direct posting)

Cause: There are two possible causes

  1. The local currency (LCY) code is not specified in the general ledger settings in Dynamics 365/BC/NAV
  2. The currency used on the invoice is not the company’s currency and is not configured in the currency register in Dynamics 365/BC/NAV

Action: Two suggested actions depending on the cause

  1. Ensure that the local currency (LCY) code in the general ledger settings is correctly configured in Dynamics 365/BC/NAV
  2. If the currency used on the invoice is not the company’s currency, ensure that an exchange rate is configured for it in the currency register in Dynamics 365 / BC / NAV
