Swedish tax agency - Information on data stored abroad

 

In connection with the move to our Azure-based operating environment, we would like to remind you of the obligation to report the storage of accounting and financial information outside Sweden to the Swedish Tax Agency. According to the Swedish Accounting Standards Board’s guidelines, both accounting systems and financial information in electronic form may, under certain conditions, be stored outside Sweden’s borders. The requirement is that the party responsible for bookkeeping notifies the Swedish Tax Agency of the storage location, that the information can be printed immediately in Sweden, and that the Swedish Tax Agency or the Swedish Customs Service can be granted immediate electronic access to the information upon request throughout the entire retention period. The cloud service provided via Azure stores all data within Europe; more information below.
